An interesting business trip.

My most recent business trip was not the usual conference or a sales meetings. This trip was a site visit to a wind farm located about 85 miles outside of Chicago. I flew into Chicago and drove out to the site. The scenery changed quickly, and before long I was in farm country. Corn fields lined the road for as far as the eye could see.

When I was about a mile away, I could see the wind turbines in the distance, amongst the acres and acres of corn fields.

Although we didn't have a chance to climb to the top of a turbine, here is the ladder that goes to the top. It is 285 rungs on a ladder, straight up. The lead technician told me he can make the climb in 5 or 6 minutes. He usually takes his time climbing because some repairs take upwards of 10 hours.
