Abby & Ellie take flight!

We brought the girls on their first airplane flight a few weeks ago. A family trip to Florida is where we were headed, so it wasn't a long flight. Both flights departed around lunchtime, so the plan was to feed them on the plane and hope they nap. We brought plenty of toys and books as backup. Since they are under 2, they can fly free as lap babies. We decided to buy one seat so we would have the row to ourselves.

Overall, I think I was more stressed about the flights than necessary. There were a few tense moments, but all in all it wasn't that hard. I was relieved when we got to Florida and got settled at the resort. A bunch of Christie's family were meeting us down there and we were the first to arrive. There were 14 in our group total, and we had 3 condo units. It was nice to have plenty of room and reinforcements to help with the girls.

We planned to take it easy and not try to visit a park each day. Christie and I have both been to the parks and seen everything there is to see. We ended up bringing the girls to Sea World and the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. It was also nice to relax at the resort. There was a play room that was loaded with toys, pools and a playground.

Here are some pictures and videos from the trip:

Abby & Ellie at the Magic Kingdom:

Abby fell asleep in the stroller, so Grammy & Pa walked her around while we took Ellie on a couple of rides.

They were amazed at "It's a Small World"...

Watching a late afternoon parade:

Sea World:

We were there a few days after the tragic death of one of killer whale trainers. Now the trainers aren't allowed in the pool with the whales, but the show must go on!

At McDonald's in Downtown Disney:

Ray & Christie, they have grown so big and they are so beautiful. How lucky and proud you both must be. Keep the updates coming as I so enjoy. Happy Mother's day Christie.
